- Annealing: Heat the material to a temperature of approximately 1010°C to 1120°C (1850°F to 2050°F), then cool rapidly in water or air.
- Stress Relief: Heat the 316L sheet to approximately 450°C to 600°C (840°F to 1110°F), hold, then cool in air.
- Solution Annealing: Heat the 316L sheet to a temperature of approximately 1010°C to 1120°C (1850°F to 2050°F), then cool rapidly in water.
- Quenching: After heating to a temperature of approximately 1010°C to 1120°C (1850°F to 2050°F), cool the material rapidly in water or air.
- Normalizing: Normalizing is not applicable for SS316L.
