- Normalizing
- Not applicable
- Reason: 304 stainless steel is an austenitic steel, so normalizing isn’t needed.
- Annealing
- Temperature: 1010-1120°C (1850-2050°F)
- Process: Heat within this range, then cool slowly to relieve stress and enhance ductility.
- Quenching
- Not recommended
- Reason: Quenching can cause distortion and doesn’t benefit 304 stainless steel.
- Tempering
- Not applicable
- Reason: Tempering is used for martensitic steels, not for 304 stainless steel.
