- Temperature: 1010-1120°C (1850-2050°F)
- Process: Restores ductility and removes internal stresses.
- Quenching
- Not recommended
- Reason: Doesn’t improve hardness; may cause warping or cracking.
- Tempering
- Not applicable
- Reason: 304L is not hardened by heat treatment.
For both 304L pipe and tubing, annealing is the only applicable heat treatment, while normalizing, quenching, and tempering is either not applicable or not recommended due to the nature of austenitic stainless steel.
